Stress Engineer

SOGECLAIR•Wichita, KS

About The Position

The Stress Engineer performs structural analysis of metallic and non-metallic structures using classical hand-analysis methods and finite element analysis. The role supports the design process from preliminary and conceptual design through critical and detail design, including preliminary sizing of structural reinforcements and definition of load paths for structural modifications. It assesses primary and secondary structures and flight-test installations for static strength, and performs fatigue and damage-tolerance assessments based on customer mission-profile requirements. The engineer prepares formal, controlled engineering documentation, including structural analysis reports and specifications; prepares and presents design-review material for technical interchange meetings with suppliers and internal and external customers; and writes, reviews, or approves structural substantiation reports that meet program and certification-authority requirements. The role may also perform Material Review Board duties in support of operations. SOGECLAIR describes an international, multicultural work environment, internal mobility opportunities, and continuous training. Its recruitment process includes a pre-qualification phone interview, a technical and HR interview, and an optional second technical interview.
