About The Position

TEGNA is hiring an innovative, experienced television anchor to develop and deliver newscasts for its OTT/CTV streaming platforms. The position focuses on timely coverage of breaking and developing news and severe weather for viewers using connected televisions and apps. It combines traditional broadcast anchoring skills with strong technical know-how, responsiveness to live images and feeds, a commitment to newsgathering, and high-quality content. The role is based in person in Charlotte, North Carolina, and works collaboratively across streaming and broadcast services.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of reporting and anchoring experience.
• Confident but approachable on-camera delivery and excellent ad-lib ability.
• Strong leadership qualities, including prior experience motivating, engaging, coaching, and recognizing team members on multiple content projects.
• Sound news judgment and a proven track record of recognizing enterprise content.
• Ability to work 100% in person in Charlotte, North Carolina.
• Passion for breaking news and a go-getter attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using vMix, Cuez, and desktop video editing software such as Edius and/or Adobe Premiere is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Anchor multiple hours of livestreamed newscasts daily.
• Book experts to respond to breaking and developing news stories.
• Generate unique and compelling stories and streaming show ideas about topics impacting the audience.
• Take a leadership role in content and production.
• Collaborate with producers, reporters, photojournalists, managers, and other TEGNA team members.
• Edit video specials and re-racked content for VOD purposes.
• Explore new ideas following discussions with supervisors.
• Help the Streaming Producer improve live shots and sources when appropriate.
• Challenge traditional ways of doing things.
