About The Position

Standard Bots is seeking a Strategy & Operations Manager to help build the systems, rhythms, and analytical foundation necessary for scaling the company with intention. This role is central to developing the operational infrastructure for a rapidly growing hardware company. The manager will collaborate across all company functions, gather data, clarify priorities, and lead high-impact projects that span multiple teams. This generalist position involves diverse tasks such as building financial models, coordinating factory expansions, and refining the OKR process. The ideal candidate will have a strong inclination towards structure, comfort with ambiguity, and a keen interest in the operations of fast-growing hardware companies. The role reports directly to the VP of Operations and involves regular interaction with the executive team.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years in business operations, strategy, finance, consulting, or a similar generalist role.
  • Ideally, some exposure to a hardware, manufacturing, or deep tech environment.
  • Strong financial modeling skills; ability to build a cost model from scratch and pressure-test assumptions.
  • Experience designing and facilitating planning processes (OKRs, annual planning, business reviews) at a company of meaningful scale.
  • Comfortable owning a variety of projects that interface with HW & SW Products.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, managing budgets, and keeping complex timelines on track.
  • A natural dot-connector who builds trust quickly across functions and seniority levels.
  • High comfort with ambiguity; ability to start projects without a defined playbook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a startup that scaled through a major production or growth inflection point.
  • Exposure to manufacturing operations, supply chain, or hardware unit economics.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar) and comfort building dashboards from scratch.
  • Prior chief of staff or strategy & ops experience at a growth-stage company.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the creation of a central KPI dashboard across departments to surface trends, flag risks, and keep leadership oriented on key metrics.
  • Own the cadence for business reviews, translating data into clear narratives for the executive team.
  • Partner with department heads to define and consistently track the right metrics for their functions.
  • Build and maintain detailed cost models to establish a clear picture of product-level margins.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to support leadership decisions, including capacity planning, make-vs-buy analyses, and headcount modeling.
  • Translate complex data into clear recommendations that drive action.
  • Partner with the leadership team to design, structure, and facilitate the company-wide OKR process quarterly and annually.
  • Ensure goals cascade meaningfully from the company level to individual teams and that review cadences are maintained.
  • Help design and run operational rhythms such as standups, business reviews, and planning cycles to keep the company aligned during growth.
  • Act as an internal 'chief of staff lite,' owning high-priority, time-sensitive projects that cut across functions, particularly those related to the product portfolio.
  • Drive facilities and capital projects, including office build-outs, factory expansions, and equipment installations, by coordinating contractors, timelines, budgets, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Hardware, Manufacturing, and Quality teams on operational initiatives where a generalist problem-solver can create leverage.

  • Employee Stock Options
  • Paid time off
  • Medical/dental/vision insurance
  • Life insurance
