About The Position

Sailor Health is seeking its first Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Lead / Director to own and scale revenue cycle operations for the company. This role is based in New York City and requires a 5-day in-office presence. The successful candidate will be the business owner and quarterback for RCM, collaborating with product, engineering, and operations teams. The role inherits a small team and a strong foundation, with over half of patients paying $0 out-of-pocket and RCM KPIs already in the top 5% of digital health companies. Sailor Health has invested in an AI-native RCM stack and seeks a leader to leverage this advantage. The position involves a combination of operational rigor, in-house RCM products, external vendors, and a focus on patient experience. The RCM Lead will report directly to the co-founders and work closely with Payer Growth, Patient Growth, Engineering, and Product teams. This is a unique opportunity to combine the scale of a fast-growing digital health company, a top-tier billing operation, advanced AI tooling, and the autonomy of a first hire.

  • You are customer-obsessed. You understand how RCM directly shapes the patient experience and you obsess over delivering a 5-star experience to patients.
  • You're a data-driven operator. You enjoy going several layers deep into data to understand operational performance, uncover edge cases, and improve performance. You’re excellent with spreadsheets.
  • You take work personally. You take pride in what you build and care deeply about the impact of your work.
  • You're an A+ player. You have a hunger to win and a proven track record of being a top performer in high-intensity environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Medicare / Medicare Advantage experience is a strong plus.
  • SQL experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong product, consulting, or banking candidates are also a fit.
  • You're an AI operator. You are excited by using AI to drive better results and 10x your output. On evenings or weekends, you're on Claude or Codex shipping products, gadgets, or just experimenting.

Responsibilities

  • Own RCM end-to-end: Be the business owner responsible for the KPIs and health of the function. You'll sustain our top 5% outcomes, and will be responsible for growing the RCM team. Key metrics include: net collection rate, touchless claim rates, denial rates, days in AR, and cost to collect.
  • Serve as the product manager behind our AI-native RCM: Partner with our engineers to continue shipping RCM products. You're not waiting for a roadmap – you're co-authoring it.
  • Design and scale AI-native workflows: Across claims management, denial resolution, QA, reconciliation, payment posting, and payer operations.
  • Build real-time RCM reporting: Build and ship dashboards, reporting infrastructure, and operational visibility across the revenue cycle for the rest of our team.
  • Identify and break bottlenecks: Identify reimbursement leakage, process bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation or optimization.
