Strategic Partnerships Associate

SoFi
$104,400 - $159,500

About The Position

The Strategic Partnerships team helps identify, develop, and manage partnerships that support SoFi’s growth and deliver value to our members. As a Strategic Partnerships Associate, you will support the full partnership lifecycle—from evaluating new opportunities and building the business case through deal execution, launch, ongoing management, and performance optimization. A key part of this role is developing a broad view of partnership activity across SoFi and helping connect the dots across business units. You will work collaboratively with teams across the company to identify where existing partner relationships can be expanded, where common needs can be addressed through a coordinated partnership approach, and where consolidating overlapping partner conversations or commercial agreements can create greater value and leverage for SoFi. This role is well suited for someone who combines strong analytical and business judgment with relationship management and execution skills and who enjoys bringing together stakeholders, identifying connections across seemingly separate initiatives, and moving opportunities forward.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or a related partnerships-focused role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate business opportunities, synthesize quantitative and qualitative information, and develop clear recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear takeaways for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong business judgment and curiosity, with the ability to connect the dots across teams and initiatives and identify opportunities that may span multiple business units.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High degree of ownership, attention to detail, and follow-through, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

  • Experience supporting or managing commercial partnerships, including partner evaluation, negotiation, contracting, launch, and ongoing performance management.
  • Experience building financial models, business cases, or partnership economics analyses.
  • Familiarity with consumer financial products and the broader fintech ecosystem.
  • Experience working across multiple business units to identify shared needs, consolidate vendor or partner relationships, or expand strategic relationships across an organization.

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships across additional products, business units, or use cases, increasing the strategic and commercial value of key partner relationships.
  • Surface overlapping partnership needs or parallel partner conversations across teams and help coordinate a unified approach, reducing fragmentation and creating opportunities for stronger commercial terms, greater scale, and more strategic partner relationships.
  • Partner with business units, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and other stakeholders to evaluate opportunities to consolidate or coordinate commercial agreements where doing so can improve economics, simplify partner management, or increase SoFi’s negotiating leverage.
  • Build business cases and financial analyses to assess partnership opportunities, including market potential, economics, strategic fit, member value, and key risks.
  • Conduct market, competitive, and partner research to identify trends, potential partners, and opportunities for growth.
  • Support partnership discussions and deal processes, including preparing materials, evaluating commercial terms, coordinating diligence, and partnering with Legal and other stakeholders through execution.
  • Own or support relationships with external partners, serving as a day-to-day point of contact and building productive, collaborative working relationships.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams with Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to launch and scale partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain reporting on partnership performance, establish relevant KPIs, analyze results, and identify opportunities to improve business and member outcomes.
  • Prepare clear, concise recommendations and presentations for internal stakeholders and leadership based on quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Manage multiple partnership initiatives simultaneously, maintaining clear timelines, deliverables, stakeholder communication, and follow-through.
  • Identify opportunities to improve partnership processes, operating models, and ways of working as the business scales.
