Strategic Finance Manager

Prismatic
$155,000 - $185,000Remote

About The Position

Prismatic is seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to enhance decision-making processes. Reporting to the CFO, this role will be the primary contact for critical decisions requiring data-driven analysis. The position involves understanding company-wide data to guide strategy at both the company and team levels. This is a key hire with significant autonomy to establish processes and capabilities from the ground up. The role requires cross-functional collaboration to identify critical data points, ensure data accuracy, and generate insights for decision-making. While part of the Finance team, this role will partner closely with all departments, demanding frequent interaction. It is ideal for individuals comfortable with ambiguity, seeking to be the central analytical and strategic resource, and aiming to gain deep knowledge of success drivers in a scaling SaaS company.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience spanning investment banking, private equity, or a similar high-rigor analytical background, combined with experience in FP&A or strategic finance at an operating company (ideally a high-growth SaaS or software startup).
  • Strong understanding of core SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR/GRR, CAC, LTV, magic number, burn multiple, rule of 40, etc.) and how they connect to the underlying business.
  • Excellent financial modeling skills — able to build models that are clean, well-structured, and hold up under scrutiny.
  • A proven track record in building processes/tooling from scratch, ideally utilizing AI to reliably accelerate development.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic thought partner to leadership by providing data with context and a viewpoint, not just reporting numbers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analysis into clear takeaways for non-finance audiences.
  • Highly organized and responsive — capable of juggling multiple concurrent requests from different teams without dropping the ball on data quality or deadlines.
  • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving, evolving environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dbt and Snowflake, or comparable modern data-stack tooling.
  • Experience at a company under ~100 employees, where you built reporting processes rather than inherited them.
  • Understanding of SQL.
  • Familiarity with BI/dashboarding tools.
  • Familiarity with FP&A tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own cross-functional KPI reporting, ensuring accurate and timely performance visibility for all teams and proactively communicating key signals.
  • Lead ad hoc strategic planning efforts, partnering with leadership to evaluate new initiatives, market opportunities, and business tradeoffs.
  • Serve as the first responder for ad hoc analysis requests from stakeholders across the company, from the executive team to individual department leads.
  • Own the entire breadth of FP&A functions for the company, including Board and investor reporting, long- and short-term financial planning, variance analysis, and other financial reporting.
  • Ensure the integrity of the underlying data that reporting depends on, directly addressing or partnering with teams to fix quality issues at the source rather than patching them downstream.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve data models and reporting capabilities, leveraging AI to maintain ownership of more technical aspects of our data infrastructure.
  • Communicate findings clearly to non-financial audiences, translating data into recommendations that drive decisions.

Benefits

  • Remote work
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance
  • Company-paid life insurance, short-term disability insurance, and long-term disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Computer & technology equipment
