About The Position

Square's Strategic Account Management organization is seeking an experienced sales professional for a flexible coverage role across our Strategic AM team. This individual will support all verticals, stepping in to maintain continuity for high-value sellers during periods of team transition, territory gaps, or high-volume periods. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, commercially sharp, and thrives in dynamic, ambiguous environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in account management or sales, ideally within SaaS, payments, or POS technology
  • Proven success growing and retaining a book of business across diverse verticals
  • Consistent over-performance on key metrics and revenue targets
  • Strong discovery and consultative selling skills
  • Adaptability and comfort managing multiple priorities and switching contexts quickly
  • Technical solutioning skills, including requirements gathering and translating customer needs into scalable solutions
  • Demonstrated success retaining and expanding strategic accounts
  • Experience negotiating contracts and pricing with senior stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative, strategic problem-solver who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage across Restaurant, Retail and/or Services portfolios as assigned, maintaining continuity and seller experience during transitions
  • Own relationships with strategic sellers in your assigned coverage area, driving account retention and identifying growth opportunities
  • Consult with business owners, operators, and executives to uncover opportunities across payments, business management, and banking tools
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Executives, Product Managers, and Solution Engineers to deliver integrated outcomes
  • Act as the voice of the customer, advocating for seller needs with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and pricing, ensuring mutual wins and long-term success
  • Deliver white-glove support, resolving critical issues and proactively driving engagement
  • Contribute to program design and operational improvements that support the broader Strategic AM team
