About The Position

Participates in the repair, maintenance and construction of all stormwaters related infrastructure in the City of Anna. This role involves assisting supervisors, maintaining landscaping, performing ground maintenance, logging daily tasks, attending safety meetings, and assisting with equipment maintenance. The primary focus is on maintaining and repairing drainage structures and related infrastructure.

Requirements

  • High school or GED
  • One (1) year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Class "C" driver’s license
  • Can acquire a CDL within one year of hire.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check.
  • Basic: Word Processing/Typing is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a Class B CDL is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Supervisor in observing contractors perform drainage or landscaping work for the city.
  • Maintain landscaping of city right of way including mowing, brush cutting and removal, and debris removal.
  • Perform ground maintenance at city facilities.
  • Attending training as necessary.
  • Log completed daily maintenance.
  • Attend safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and precautions.
  • Assist in the maintenance and inspection of department equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintain and repair drainage structures including bar ditches, storm drains, culverts, inlets, manholes, retention/detention ponds, erosion control structures, and other drainage related infrastructure.
  • Clear ditches to grade.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
