About The Position

The Materials Helper (Storeroom) assists the Senior Storekeeper with warehouse activities. The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Georgia Power and IBEW Local 84; union membership is optional. The non-negotiable starting salary and subsequent increases are governed by that agreement. The role may require travel to other regional storerooms and overtime or storm duty when necessary. It has been designated safety-sensitive and requires applicable pre-employment fitness screening. The position also requires use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle and associated driving qualifications and monitoring.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the Warehouse - Clerical Test.
• Ability to follow instructions and translate them into action items.
• Ability to interact with various internal customers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continuously or repetitively.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift or similar motorized warehouse equipment for warehouse materials distribution.
• At least one year of verifiable driving experience and a valid driver's license for the class of vehicle operated.
• No revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application.
• No convictions of major traffic violations within the 12 months prior to application, and no pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
• Consent to continuous monitoring of the Motor Vehicle Record.
• Successful completion of all required fitness assessments.

Responsibilities

• Organize and inventory warehouse materials.
• Prepare materials for outgoing shipment.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Assist customers and employees with locating materials.
• Assist customers and employees with loading and unloading materials.
• Assist the Senior Storekeeper with warehouse activities.
