About The Position

Fairview is seeking a Senior Storekeeper to join our team at St. John's Hospital. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit-eligible position scheduled for 80 hours every two weeks. The standard schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no regularly scheduled weekend shifts. To support departmental staffing needs during planned time off, occasional schedule flexibility may be required. In those instances, the position may be assigned an 8-hour shift anytime between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. This position is represented by SEIU Local 113. Responsible for surgical case cart assembly. Accurately and efficiently assembles supplies and instruments required for surgical cases per the surgical preference card or surgery requirements. This includes collecting and organizing disposable and reusable items on case carts, processing and documenting unused disposable and reusable items returned to inventory. Receives request and delivers items to surgical suite. Transports surgical case carts and other carts to and from the surgical services department. Also performs duties of Storekeeper I position as required or directed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or 2 years of experience
  • Cleaning Basic Skills: Ability to operate cleaning equipment; familiar with cleaning products, chemicals, and safety procedures
  • Computer Skills: Basic ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (navigate in Windows, Outlook, epic EHR, etc.)
  • 3 years experience with inventory management and/or materials handling

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
  • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
  • Uses a pre-printed list to assemble products and other items for a specific surgical procedure.
  • Inspects products for integrity, dating and other criteria.
  • Receives and returns not used products and other items to inventory.
  • Transports surgical case carts and other carts to and from surgical services.
  • Performs clerical work associated with surgical case cart building.
  • Delivers requested items promptly to a surgical suite or other location.
  • Plans and coordinates work to ensure planned surgical case carts are ready for use when needed.
