About The Position

The Store Shift Supervisor provides neighborly customer service to people and their pets while helping maintain store standards and daily operations. The role partners with store team leaders to learn and reinforce company standards and management routines, and provides leadership coverage and management functions when team leaders are offsite, up to four times per week. The supervisor also performs team-member duties when not acting as manager on duty or learning operational tasks. The position may involve performing nail trims on pets.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of retail experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong sales and customer-service skills.
Ability to operate store equipment, including a forklift.
Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work flexible schedules.
Reliable transportation.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must pass a drug screening where allowed by law.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
Set an example for team members in delivering customer service.
Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce company standards and daily management routines.
Provide leadership coverage and perform management functions when team leaders are offsite, up to four times a week.
Follow operational policies and procedures for cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security.
Learn and perform back-office procedures, including making signs, updating price changes, and inputting cashier records.
Participate in store recruiting, onboarding, and team-member development.
Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders.
Perform store team-member duties when not acting as manager on duty or learning operational tasks.
Perform nail trims on pets.
