About The Position

The Store Shift Supervisor at Pet Supplies Plus provides neighborly service to customers and their pets while supporting store team leaders with daily operations. The role helps reinforce store standards and management routines, provides leadership coverage when team leaders are offsite, and performs both supervisory and store team member duties. The supervisor also supports recruiting, onboarding, and team member development, and must be willing to perform nail trims on pets.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of retail experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong sales and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate store equipment, including a forklift.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work flexible schedules.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must pass drug screening where allowed by law.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, neighborly customer service and set an example for team members.
• Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce company standards and daily management routines.
• Provide leadership coverage and perform management functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite.
• Follow operational policies and procedures for cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security.
• Learn and perform back-office procedures, including making signs, updating price changes, and entering cashier records.
• Participate in store recruiting, onboarding, and team member development.
• Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders.
• Perform store team member duties when not serving as manager-on-duty or learning operational tasks.
• Perform nail trims on pets.
