About The Position
Wegmans Food Markets is hiring a Store Security Specialist in Syracuse, NY. Store security teams help keep customers and employees safe and communicate between the Asset Protection team and store leadership. The role is suited to an independent, task-oriented person who can build relationships throughout the store while maintaining a focus on customer service. The position offers a starting pay of $32.00 per hour and a bonus opportunity of up to $2,500. The schedule is full time, with morning, afternoon, and evening availability, including weekends. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Availability for morning, afternoon, and evening schedules, including weekends.
- Ability to work independently, remain task-oriented, build strong relationships throughout the store, and keep customer service a priority.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety in stores to create a positive shopping and working environment.
- Analyze trends and data to develop strategies that maximize sales and minimize loss due to theft.
- Monitor activity to prevent loss, including apprehending and processing shoplifters.
- Build collaborative relationships with community partners and emergency responders.
- Coordinate and manage the use of all Closed-Circuit TV (CCTV) systems.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide ongoing support and guidance to employees and customers.
- Conduct investigations as directed by leadership.
