About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for managing store employees and effectively planning and implementing store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing, and support. The role ensures appropriate staffing and training, effective daily opening and closing, strong customer service, accurate inventory and cash controls, and compliance with company policies and procedures. The Store Manager also monitors operating results, maintains a clean and safe store, and completes required documentation.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including percentages.
Knowledge of cash handling, cashier accountability, and deposit control.
Ability to perform cash-register functions and generate reports.
Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices, including legal compliance and internal processes.
Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices, including deposits and store keys.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to solve problems and handle a variety of situations.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

One year of management experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees in accordance with labor laws and company policies, and ensure the store is properly staffed.
Train employees, conduct performance evaluations, address performance gaps through solutions or counseling, and handle discipline up to and including termination.
Recommend employee pay rates and advancement.
Communicate performance, conduct, and safety expectations, and coordinate meetings and events that reinforce safety, security, and policies.
Ensure the store is staffed and opened and closed effectively each day; personally open at least twice and close at least twice per week.
Review operating statements to identify business trends, expense-control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors.
Manage ordering and in-stock targets; review ordering plans, seasonal direction, and inventory issues weekly; follow up on Basic Stock Replenishment and cycle counts.
Facilitate merchandise staging, stocking, and storage in accordance with company processes.
Ensure merchandise presentation follows established practices, including proper fixture use, pricing, and signage.
Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
Protect the store's financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, security practices, and cash-control procedures.
Provide leadership in delivering superior customer service.
Maintain a clean, organized store and a safe and secure environment for employees and customers.
Ensure the store has the tools needed to perform required tasks.
Follow company policies and procedures and ensure employee compliance.
Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
