Store Manager
About The Position
The Store Manager in Training participates in on-the-job training to learn to manage the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role maintains high standards for merchandising, product placement, store signage, and display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. The Store Manager oversees daily store activities, develops associates, implements corporate operational and merchandising direction, protects company assets, and helps the store achieve its maximum profit contribution. The role also ensures compliance with applicable laws and company policies and promotes a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and associates.
Requirements
- Strong productivity management in freight processing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
- Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise is preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and hire store associates.
- Train, coach, and develop associates in operations and merchandising, correcting performance when appropriate.
- Oversee and delegate store activities to support smooth daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated by corporate headquarters.
- Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
- Protect company assets.
- Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the store.
- Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
