About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for managing employees and effectively planning and implementing store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing, and support. The role ensures the store is properly staffed, trained, organized, secure, and operating according to company policies and procedures. The manager provides customer service leadership, maintains inventory and financial controls, oversees merchandise presentation, and completes required documentation.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including percentages.
Knowledge of cash handling procedures, cashier accountability, and deposit control.
Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports.
Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices, including legal compliance and internal processes.
Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices, including deposits and store keys.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to solve problems and handle a variety of situations.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees in accordance with labor laws and company policies, ensuring the store is properly staffed.
Train employees, conduct performance evaluations, identify performance gaps, and provide solutions or counseling, up to and including termination.
Recommend employee pay rates and advancement.
Regularly communicate performance, conduct, and safety expectations, and coordinate meetings and events that promote safety, security, and policy compliance.
Ensure the store is effectively opened and closed each day; personally open at least twice per week and close at least twice per week.
Review operating statements to identify business trends, expense-control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors.
Order merchandise to meet or exceed in-stock targets; review ordering plans, seasonal direction, and inventory management weekly; follow up on Basic Stock Replenishment and cycle counts.
Facilitate efficient merchandise staging, stocking, and storage by following company work processes.
Ensure merchandise presentation follows established practices, including proper use of fixtures, pricing, and signage.
Maintain accurate inventory through control of damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
Protect the store's financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, security practices, and cash-control procedures.
Provide leadership in delivering superior customer service.
Maintain a clean, organized store and a safe and secure working and shopping environment.
Ensure the store has the tools needed to perform required tasks.
Follow company policies and procedures and ensure employee compliance.
Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
