About The Position

The Store Manager leads an assigned retail store to create an excellent shopping experience, drive sales growth and profitability, and establish an engaging work environment. The role is responsible for maintaining company operational standards and performance targets, leading the full store team, and ensuring excellent daily store conditions. The Store Manager recruits, selects, trains, motivates, coaches, and develops team members, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable city, state, and federal requirements.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Three to five years of management experience.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and tasks effectively.
• Ability to complete administrative paperwork in a timely manner.
• Planning and analytical skills, including comprehension of profit and loss, budgets, and expenses.
• Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills.
• Ability to demonstrate, understand, and apply the company’s workplace values.

Nice To Haves

• Management or leadership experience supervising others, with previous experience in scheduling, merchandising, budgeting, and expense control.
• Leadership or management training.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to store team members regarding their tasks, duties, role requirements, and performance standards.
• Create a positive, safe, and clean store environment for team members and customers.
• Recruit motivated team members with the skills and behaviors needed for their roles, using company processes, tools, and resources.
• Train, develop, mentor, and coach team members to succeed in their current and future roles.
• Support team member growth and success through screening, feedback, teaching, mentoring, and progressive disciplinary actions as needed.
• Communicate effectively with store team members, District Managers, Regional Directors, and other field team members.
• Operate the store according to company standards to maximize sales, profits, and the customer shopping experience.
• Lead daily produce, meat, and center-store department operations in accordance with company standards and programs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and secure workplace through execution of food safety, health and safety, and compliance policies and practices.
• Manage key store operating metrics, including sales, customer counts, margins, labor productivity, shrink, and EBITDA.
• Analyze and use operational and financial data to make business decisions.
• Execute merchandising programs, including planograms, displays, price signs and tags, and COOL signage.
• Maintain a full, fresh, clean, and friendly shopping environment.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure product quality, freshness, and rotation meet company standards.
• Manage fresh product availability, condition, and shrink exposure.
• Implement and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including accounting, cash handling, inventory, loss prevention, payroll administration, sanitation, food safety, documentation, and administrative paperwork.
• Obtain Food Safety Certification in accordance with company policies and city and state requirements.
• Protect company property, funds, and merchandise.
• Work with DSD vendors and hold them accountable to vendor policies.
• Support competitive environment research.
• Act as a trusted leader and ambassador of company values, following through on commitments and acting with team members and customers in mind.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
