About The Position
Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Manager Trainee. The trainee works with the store manager and/or co-manager to learn the overall operation of the store, including supervisory decision-making consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures. The role involves learning to manage controllable expenses, sales increases, inside gross margins, shortage controls, and promotional programs. The Store Manager Trainee sets an example for coworkers through professionalism, attitude, teamwork, and customer service. The position may serve as acting store manager when the store manager is absent and the co-manager is unavailable. Duties also include store administration and bookkeeping, ordering and managing merchandise, maintaining the store, handling deposits, and supporting employee hiring, training, and management.

- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities
- Train with the store manager and/or co-manager to learn overall store operations and make supervisory decisions consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
- Learn and manage controllable expenses, sales increases, inside gross margins, shortage controls, and promotional programs.
- Model professionalism, a positive attitude, and teamwork in customer service and convenience store operations.
- Communicate with customers and resolve complaints and inquiries.
- Serve as acting store manager when the store manager is absent and the co-manager is unavailable.
- Complete daily bookwork using a computer to record employee, inventory, and sales information.
- Order supplies and merchandise; inventory and invoice merchandise; key in daily sales; and receive, price, stock, display, and rotate inventory.
- Complete store maintenance and basic repairs, make bank deposits, and perform light cleaning of the store and restrooms.
- Hire, train, and orient new employees; discipline and/or terminate problem employees.
- Maintain security of store assets and control cash, fuel, inventories, merchandise, and labor hours.
- Maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
