About The Position

The Store Manager Trainee receives on-the-job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role supports high standards for merchandising, merchandise placement, store signage, and display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. The position is responsible for helping the store operate smoothly, reach its maximum profit contribution, protect company assets, and provide a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates.

Requirements

Strong productivity management in freight processing is required.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise is preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers.
Train, coach, and develop associates in store operations and merchandising, correcting performance when appropriate.
Oversee and delegate store activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Implement operational and merchandising direction from corporate headquarters.
Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
Protect company assets.
Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
