About The Position

The Store Manager Trainee participates in on-the-job training to learn to manage the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role maintains high standards for merchandising, placement, signage, and display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. It also involves leading associates, coordinating daily store activities, supporting profitability, protecting company assets, and maintaining a positive and safe environment for customers and associates.

Requirements

• Strong productivity management in freight processing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise is preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers.
• Train, coach, and support associate growth and development in store operations and merchandising, correcting performance when appropriate.
• Oversee and delegate store activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated by corporate headquarters.
• Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
• Protect company assets.
• Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
