About The Position

The Store Manager Trainee receives on-the-job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role focuses on maintaining merchandising standards, product placement, signage, and effective displays to create an inviting customer atmosphere. The trainee also supports store operations, associate development, customer service, compliance, and asset protection. The position is full-time.

Requirements

Strong productivity management in freight processing.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise is preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers.
Train, coach, and develop associates in store operations and merchandising, and correct performance when appropriate.
Oversee and delegate store activities to support smooth daily operations.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated by corporate headquarters.
Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
Protect company assets.
Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
