About The Position

The Part-Time Store Logistics role supports store associates by organizing, managing, and cleaning backroom spaces and fixture storage areas. The position coordinates the handling and movement of freight and fixtures, including work involving large shipments and assemblies, and assists customers and salespeople with retrieving and loading purchased products. The role requires teamwork, communication, knowledge of equipment and tools, and adherence to safety procedures. The position may also involve snow and debris removal around the building and other duties assigned by leadership.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of related experience and/or training in a retail environment.
Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push or pull, lift, talk, and hear, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to perform very heavy work: exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, more than 50 pounds frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work with a team and help cover absences in other store areas.

Responsibilities

Organize, manage, and clean backroom spaces and fixture storage areas.
Communicate with associates before transporting freight or fixtures to departments or the off-site warehouse.
Coordinate scheduling with Leadership, Specialty Shop Managers, or Merchandisers for builds, large shipments, assembly or disassembly, and movement of Opto walls, Lozier walls, and Adams racking.
Lead a team in executing plans according to Scheels safety expectations.
Establish product-clearing expectations before event dates.
Help identify bulk products that can be moved to off-site storage.
Assist customers and salespeople with retrieving and loading purchased products.
Organize, categorize, and transport freight and fixtures to and from the warehouse.
Use strong oral and written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively and promptly.
Learn and use equipment and tools properly.
Assist with removing snow and debris from walkways, rooftops, and landscaping around the building.
Work with a team and help cover absences in other store areas.
Maintain an orderly appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including off-site warehouses.
Perform other duties assigned by the leadership team.
Follow safety procedures and perform job duties in a way that minimizes injury risk.
