About The Position
Shoe Carnival is hiring a customer-focused Store Lead to oversee a store area, such as the Women’s, Men’s, or Children’s department. The role supports overall store standards and provides an opportunity to take on more responsibility and develop leadership experience. Store Leads assist customers, guide associates, handle store transactions and cash procedures, maintain merchandise and displays, and communicate and delegate tasks to the team. The position offers flexible full-time or part-time hours.
Requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Confidence taking initiative and leading by example.
- Ability to learn and operate the POS system.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Able to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs during shifts.
- Comfortable bending, squatting, and reaching for merchandise.
- Able to move quickly in a fast-paced store environment.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in retail, sales, or cash handling.
Responsibilities
- Lead a department and support overall store standards.
- Greet and assist customers with a positive, helpful attitude.
- Train and guide associates on customer service, product placement, and cash handling.
- Handle transactions, returns, and safe and till counts as needed.
- Organize merchandise and displays, assist with truck unloading, and support floor moves.
- Promote current sales and programs.
- Delegate tasks and communicate clearly with the team.
