About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of the store's overall look and feel, including cleanliness and recovery standards, to deliver on Brand Promises. The Team Member will also deliver friendly customer service, assist customers in shopping the store, and help them find what they're looking for. This position involves collecting and disposing of trash, dusting and mopping floors, and moving equipment and products for proper cleaning and placement. The Team Member will clean assigned areas using provided materials and equipment, potentially mixing cleaning solutions. Deep cleaning of key areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, and high-traffic zones is required to ensure a clean and safe environment for customers and staff. The role also includes maintaining cleaning equipment, notifying supervisors of supply needs, and proactively identifying areas that require cleaning. The Team Member will complete all assigned tasks and perform duties in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines. Maintaining positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers is crucial, as is projecting a positive image and serving as a role model.

Requirements

Michaels requires all team members in this role to be at least sixteen (16) years or older.

Responsibilities

Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures.
Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
Moves equipment and products for proper cleaning and places products back in correct placement.
Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
May require mixing water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Deep cleans key areas of the store including but not limited to bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways and other high traffic areas to maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
Keeps cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notifies supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment.
Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
Maintains positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers, even in difficult situations, in keeping with the organization’s vision and values.
Projects a positive image and serves as a role model for other Team Members.
Provides a fast and friendly check out experience; executes cash handling to standards.
Engages customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and completes enrollments.
Assists with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
Participates in the truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
Supports shrink and safety programs.
Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; executes Company policies and standards.
