About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Deli Manager. The position assists the store manager with supervisory decisions and supports planning, leadership, organization, and follow-up related to controllable expenses, sales, food costs, and shortage controls. The manager sets an example for coworkers in professionalism, attitude, teamwork, customer service, and convenience store operations; trains and develops employees; and oversees deli inventory, ordering, food preparation, sanitation, equipment upkeep, vendor deliveries, product rotation, and safety. The role requires passing ServSafe certification unless waived by the Deli Operations Manager, as well as a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Requirements

• Complete and pass ServSafe certification; certification may be waived by the Deli Operations Manager.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist the store manager in making supervisory decisions consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with planning, leadership, organization, and follow-up for controllable expenses, sales expenses, sales increases, food costs, and shortage controls.
• Model professionalism, a positive attitude, teamwork, customer service, and convenience store operations for coworkers.
• Conduct new employee orientation and training; promote employee development; and objectively document performance and conduct evaluations.
• Conduct daily walk-throughs and prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow up on tasks.
• Maintain accurate inventories, order and maintain deli merchandise, and achieve favorable deli metrics.
• Perform deli maintenance, including basic preventative maintenance and repairs of deli equipment.
• Follow sanitation procedures and food-preparation quality standards; prepare deli items and cook heated items as required.
• Promote kitchen and store safety.
• Check in deli vendors, cross-check orders, verify items by line number, put orders away, and identify miss-picks, incorrect pack sizes, and broken or open merchandise.
• Maintain PLUs and print lists for tills.
• Rotate products, keep them fresh, check expiration dates, and remove and discard unauthorized products.
