About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to provide customer service and support day-to-day store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting; stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise; maintaining store cleanliness and safety; and supporting deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks also perform assigned management duties and, in smaller locations, carry out deli duties described in the deli job description.

Requirements

• Ability to provide excellent customer service and perform the listed store and cash-handling duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
• Operate the computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
• Remember regular customers’ names and faces; answer and screen phone calls; monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and support store security.
• Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise.
• Complete shift work accurately and effectively, clean and maintain all store areas, and complete vendor check-in procedures.
• Complete the protocol system and “drive off” controls.
• Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
• Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water/cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
• Keep hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
• Perform deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
