About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to provide excellent customer service and support store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting, merchandising, housekeeping, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks may also perform all deli duties at smaller locations, as described in the deli job description. Town Pump describes itself as a growing company with opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
• Operate the computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
• Handle cash and accounting duties.
• Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise; stock shelves and coolers.
• Complete shift work accurately and effectively, vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and “drive off” controls.
• Maintain store safety and security, police the store, detect shoplifters, and advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
• Remember regular customers’ names and faces, and answer and screen phone calls.
• Clean and maintain all areas inside and outside the store.
• Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
• Keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee area, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
• Perform deli food sales and cooking, including all deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
