About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to provide excellent customer service and support store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting; stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise; maintaining store cleanliness and safety; securing the store; and selling and preparing deli food. Store Clerks operate computerized cash registers, handle customer interactions and complaints, complete shift and vendor procedures, and perform indoor and outdoor cleaning and maintenance. In smaller locations, the position also performs all deli duties described in the deli job description.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service, handle cash and accounting, and support deli food sales and cooking.
Operate the computerized cash register; give correct change; scan credit cards; accept and process checks; and bag merchandise.
Remember regular customers, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and handle customer complaints.
Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise; and complete shift work accurately and effectively.
Clean and maintain all store areas, including housekeeping inside and outside the store, and maintain store safety and security.
Complete vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and “drive off” controls.
Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep hot dog rollers, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment centers, coffee areas, and fountain dispensers clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform all deli duties in smaller locations, as described in the deli job description.
Carry out other duties assigned by management.
