About The Position

This position receives, sorts, and prepares donated items for display in the store, determines whether items are suitable according to established standards, and helps maintain an orderly and clean warehouse. The worker also assumes Store Clerk responsibilities as needed. The role is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 29 hours per week, and is part-time. Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, dirt, and similar physical discomforts. Paid PTO is offered.

Requirements

At least one year of cashiering experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry and/or push or pull light objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Moderate mobility, including frequently alternating among sitting, standing, and walking.
Knowledge of effective customer service techniques.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Experience working in a retail store.

Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and sort donated clothing, shoes, household items, bric-a-brac, and other goods according to category and condition.
Tag items with specially coded tickets and/or prices according to established procedures.
Prepare unsuitable clothing for the baler.
Lift and carry items to destinations for further processing, storage, or store display.
Assist customers with purchases by ringing up sales using a cash register, collecting money, counting change, preparing receipts, and packaging purchases.
Assist customers donating items and direct them to the appropriate loading or unloading area.
Place and arrange items in the store as directed, and check displays to ensure items are neat and orderly.
Help maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse.
Assume Store Clerk responsibilities as needed.
