About The Position

Receives, sorts, prices, and prepares donated items for display in the store. Determines the suitability and pricing of items based on established standards. Assists with maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the store and sorting room, helps customers donate, select, and purchase store items, operates and maintains a cash register, and responds to customer questions. The role includes sorting room responsibilities (35%), customer service responsibilities (35%), and store and sorting room orderliness and cleanliness responsibilities (30%). Work takes place in a store and sometimes in a warehouse environment, where noise, dust, dirt, and weather-related discomforts may occur.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of retail or warehouse experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to operate a cash register, perform routine mathematical computations, and count change.
Ability to walk, stoop, stand, and do some climbing continuously; duties are usually performed standing, with brief or occasional sitting.
Ability to perform moderate physical effort, including sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
