About The Position

The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and cleaning floors, glass, windows, and other store areas. The associate also supports store operations by following customer experience, merchandising, health and safety, and loss prevention standards; helping with recovery; and cross-training in other store areas as business needs require. The position is part-time at TJ Maxx Store 1243 in Speedway, Indiana. The listed starting pay range is $13.25 to $13.75 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to applicable eligibility requirements and plan terms.

Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.

Responsibilities

Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, to support business needs.
Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Follow operational and loss prevention controls, including shrink-reduction guidelines and policies.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Perform other duties as assigned.
