Store Cleaning Associate Part Time
About The Position
The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and completing a range of cleaning tasks, while upholding company standards for customer experience, merchandising, safety, loss prevention, and store recovery. The associate is cross-trained in multiple store areas and helps support business needs, including Front End coverage. This is a part-time position at Homesense Store 0025 in Parsippany, New Jersey. Starting pay is $15.92 to $16.42 per hour, depending on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
- Ability to multitask and respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.

- Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Retail customer experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
- Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
- Follow company Health and Safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
- Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor, to support business needs.
- Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
- Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
