About The Position
The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role operates floor scrubbers and buffers and performs dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows. The associate maintains cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms, and follows health and safety requirements, including replenishing essential items in designated areas. The associate supports customer experience and a positive store culture, follows operational, merchandising, signage, and loss-prevention standards, and helps reduce shrink. Cross-training across store areas allows the associate to support Front End coverage and other business needs. The role also requires effective communication with management and associates, compliance with labor and break policies, and participation in safety awareness. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
- Ability to multitask and respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
- Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Retail customer experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards and operate and maintain the scrubber and buffer.
- Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
- Cross-train in other store areas, such as the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor, to support business needs.
- Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
- Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
- Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction guidelines.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Model customer experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
