About The Position

The Store Cleaner maintains the store’s cleanliness, appearance, and recovery standards while supporting the company’s Brand Promises. The role also delivers friendly customer service by helping customers shop and locate products. The cleaner maintains assigned areas, equipment, and supplies; performs deep cleaning in high-traffic and key areas; and completes tasks in accordance with applicable federal, state, and county guidelines. The position requires positive, respectful interactions with customers and team members and projecting a positive image. Other duties may be assigned, including checkout, rewards and credit-card enrollment, omnichannel fulfillment, truck unloading, stocking, planograms, and shrink and safety support. This role is based in a public retail store. Public areas are climate controlled, while some stock rooms may not be. Some outdoor work may be required for retrieving carts or unloading trucks. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings. Team members must be at least 16 years old and satisfy applicable legal requirements.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Must satisfy applicable federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.
Ability to remain standing for long periods.
Ability to move throughout the store.
Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly.
Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.
Use standard commercial cleaners and chemicals from cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures.
Dust and damp mop floors according to approved procedures.
Move equipment and products to clean properly, then return products to their correct placement.
Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment; mix water and detergents as needed to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Deep clean key store areas, including bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and other high-traffic areas, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly and notify the supervisor in advance when supplies need replenishment.
Identify areas that require cleaning and take initiative to complete the work.
Complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor and perform tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.
Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers, including in difficult situations, and serve as a positive role model.
As assigned, provide fast, friendly checkout service and handle cash according to standards.
As assigned, explain the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
As assigned, assist with omnichannel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
As assigned, participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
As assigned, support shrink and safety programs.
Follow standard operating procedures and company programs, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
