Store Cleaner (Janitor)
About The Position
The Store Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating scrubbers and buffers; dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows. The employee maintains cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms, and follows health and safety procedures, including replenishing essential supplies. The position is cross-trained across store areas to support business needs and front-end coverage. It also requires following operational, merchandising, signage, and loss-prevention standards; supporting a positive customer experience and store culture; communicating effectively with management and associates; and complying with labor and safety policies. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
- Ability to multitask and respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
- Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities
- Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards and operate and maintain scrubbers and buffers.
- Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the sales floor, queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including replenishing essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
- Cross-train in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, and support front-end coverage needs.
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction measures.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
