About The Position

The Store Cashier III is a key member of the store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service and helping ensure travelers leave better than they arrived. TravelCenters of America offers customers a one-stop shopping experience with products including Grab ‘N Go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, clothing, and gifts. The role serves customers at the point of sale, supports food and beverage area upkeep and merchandise operations, assists with inventory accuracy and cashier training, and helps with end-of-day reporting. The position requires cash handling, computer and POS knowledge, merchandising and stocking experience, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays. The listed pay range is $19.00–$19.50 per hour; actual pay depends on factors such as responsibilities, job requirements, and relevant experience and skills. The position includes the physical activities and vision abilities described under Working Conditions / Physical Requirements, with duties performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Computer/POS knowledge is required.
Cash handling skills are required.
Merchandising/stocking experience is required.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
The position involves continuously sitting and typing; frequently talking and using eye and hand coordination; and may also require climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Lifting and/or moving objects is occasionally required. Standing, walking, bending over, and repetitive use of legs are occasional.
Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Serve each customer courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
Process customer transactions on a point-of-sale (POS) register.
Maintain a clean, well-stocked food and beverage area.
Assist with ordering, receiving, and unloading products.
Stock, organize, and rotate merchandise on planograms.
Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Assist with training lower-level cashiers on job duties and responsibilities.
Assist with end-of-day reporting, including register audits and safe counting.
Prioritize work according to store and management needs.
Know and follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members and customers.
Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
