About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and help meet their needs. The role provides customer service, operates the register, maintains the sales floor and inventory, supports store opening and closing activities, and assists departments including photo, beauty, and pharmacy. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs. The position is part-time, with 29 anticipated weekly hours.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount of force regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to view a computer terminal, read, and perform visual inspections involving small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not required).

Responsibilities

• Provide differentiated customer service by anticipating customer needs, demonstrating compassion, and identifying and resolving potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Perform cashier duties, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by ensuring they are stocked and operational and by staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
