About The Position

The Store Associate supports the success of the retail store by assisting wholesale and retail customers, identifying their needs, answering questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommending appropriate solutions. The role focuses on excellent customer service and meeting store sales goals while promptly addressing customer concerns, staying knowledgeable about product features, and maintaining the quality and visual standards of products and the store. The position involves contact with customers, potentially including minors, and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuables. The selected individual will work at Store #725193, 276B Passaic Ave, Kearny, NJ 07032.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without current or future sponsorship for an employment work visa.
Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products.
Previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.

Responsibilities

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining their needs and presenting appropriate products and services.
Build productive, trust-based relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
Process sales transactions accurately and consistently with policies and procedures.
Follow and achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals.
Maintain precise work order files and formulas.
Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse.
Tint and mix products to customer specifications, as needed.
Stock shelves and set up displays.
Clean store equipment.
Load and unload delivery trucks.
Assist in making deliveries, as needed.
Maintain assigned areas in an in-stock and presentable condition.
Remain knowledgeable about products offered and discuss available options.
Comply with inventory control procedures.
Suggest ways to improve sales.
