About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and store operations. The role provides friendly, compassionate service; handles cashier duties; maintains the sales floor and inventory; supports store opening and closing when needed; and assists departments including photo, beauty, and pharmacy. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs. The position is part-time, with 24 anticipated weekly hours.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount of force regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to use a computer terminal and perform reading and visual inspection involving small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs and provide differentiated service with compassion and care, identifying and resolving potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, check, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Provide customer support to all departments, including photo and beauty, ensuring departments are stocked and operational and staying current with services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health.
