About The Position

America’s National Parks is hiring a part-time seasonal Store Associate at San Juan National Historic Site in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The season runs through January 2027. The role supports the organization’s mission to educate visitors about the history, landscapes, and cultures that have shaped America, and to support national parks through retail operations. The Store Associate operates the cash register, maintains the sales floor and visual displays, and assists visitors with product selection. The position requires a flexible schedule that includes weekends, regular attendance, teamwork, and sensitivity when discussing complex topics. The associate may open and close the store independently.

Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance.
Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 35 pounds to a shelf height of 5 feet.
Ability to stand for long periods and bend, squat, and reach.

Responsibilities

Operate the cash register by processing appropriate tenders and maintaining accurate cash register records.
Restock the sales floor in accordance with visual merchandising guidelines and help create visual displays.
Assist visitors with product selection and offer complementary products.
Navigate complex topics with sensitivity and respect.
Work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
Open and close the store independently when needed.
