About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time store associates, cashiers, and stockers. Store associates handle both cashier and stocker duties, including merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and cleaning. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and may fulfill curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays neat and organized in accordance with merchandising plans. Each role supports smooth store operations and a positive customer shopping experience. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $18.00 per hour, with stated wage increases in later years.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Work independently and with others.
Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Meet availability requirements.
Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Model customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as needed.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Follow company policies, processes, inventory procedures, and product-handling guidelines.
Help maintain a safe workplace by identifying and correcting hazards, following proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zones and merchandising standards.
Perform general cleaning to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors to management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional checkout lanes as needed.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers' vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Store associates perform both cashier and stocker responsibilities.
