About The Position

Binny's is hiring a full-time Store Associate for its beer department in Glen Ellyn. The role is suited to someone passionate about craft beer and committed to excellent customer service. Entry-level beer knowledge may be considered, and the company provides on-the-job training and educational opportunities to support a career in beer retail. The position pays $17.50–$22.00 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

Passion for beer and strong desire to provide superior customer service.
Good working knowledge of craft beer, commodity-brand beer, imported beer, and beer styles; entry-level knowledge will be considered.
Be over 21 years of age.
Ability to taste beer professionally for educational purposes as allowed.
Ability to lift 40–50 pounds and work in cold areas.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to count cash and make change accurately.
Ability to operate business machines, including scanners and computer keyboards.
Ability to pass any applicable alcohol training class and maintain a current certification card.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and managers, follow directions, complete assignments, write legibly, and read small type.
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
Ability to work scheduled hours and maintain consistent, regular attendance.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail experience.
Experience in the beer, wine, and spirits industry or hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Assist with developing sales and provide assistance to customers.
Continue developing knowledge of beer and other store products.
Work as part of a team to keep the beer department and store organized and effectively merchandised, including moving, stocking, and staging product.
Assist in other departments as needed.
