About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Storage Engineer for its Federal Civilian Division to support a large-scale, global Cloud and Data Center Services program for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Diplomatic Technology. The role engineers, administers, and optimizes enterprise storage platforms across hybrid data center environments, including NetApp ONTAP systems, SAN/NAS architecture, data protection, and storage virtualization. The work supports high availability, performance, and mission readiness for DT workloads through operational support, storage lifecycle management, modernization, platform engineering, and cross-domain integration. The position supports geographically dispersed enterprise data centers and integrates with VMware, converged and cloud infrastructure, monitoring, security, and data protection services. It participates in 24x7x365 storage operations alongside Enterprise Operations and Site Operations teams and follows ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management processes. The role also contributes to migration, refresh, expansion, and re-platforming projects; security and compliance activities; performance monitoring and reporting; and engineering documentation and stakeholder collaboration. This is a contingent position expected to start in Spring 2027. It is hybrid within the National Capital Region, with periodic travel to customer and data center sites. Scheduled hours are 40 per week; required travel is less than 10%. The stated likely salary range is $140,821–$190,523, with compensation dependent on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements.
