About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Storage Engineer for its Federal Civilian Division to support a large-scale, global Cloud and Data Center Services program for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Diplomatic Technology. The role engineers, administers, and optimizes enterprise storage platforms across hybrid data center environments, including NetApp ONTAP systems, SAN/NAS architecture, data protection, and storage virtualization. The work covers operational support, storage lifecycle management, modernization, platform engineering, and cross-domain integration to ensure high availability, performance, and mission readiness. The engineer will support geographically dispersed data centers and mission-critical workloads, VMware storage integrations, infrastructure automation, and platform services. The position also supports 24x7x365 storage operations, ITIL-aligned service management, migration and refresh initiatives, security and compliance, monitoring and reporting, and collaboration with technical teams and Government stakeholders. This is a contingent position expected to start in Spring of 2027. The role is hybrid within the National Capital Region, with periodic travel to customer and data center sites. Less than 10% travel is required. An active Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
