About The Position

The Stocker/Cleaner/Utility position maintains merchandise inventory and presentation, provides customer service, and helps keep the store and its equipment safe, clean, and operational. The role includes stocking and rotating products, verifying and pricing deliveries, preparing displays, assisting with inventory and shift audits, and performing cleaning and facility checks. The employee works with minimal supervision and is expected to maintain regular, predictable onsite attendance. Other duties may be assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work as scheduled and arrive on time.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others understand.
Ability to perform the essential duties and physical functions of the position and work in the stated conditions.
Ability to be exposed to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in a walk-in cooler or freezer and outdoors.
Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead and up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands throughout the shift, with eye-hand coordination.
Ability to push or pull with arms using up to 20 pounds of force.
Ability to reach overhead, bend and twist at the waist, stoop, kneel, squat, push, and pull.
Ability to communicate orally and operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
Ability to work alone and tolerate occasional noise.
Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
May need to climb a ladder to store or retrieve materials or place and remove signs.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience in retail sales preferred.
Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor product areas and ensure merchandise is stocked, rotated, displayed attractively, fresh, accessible, and correctly priced.
Ensure grocery deliveries are accurate and stocked according to company guidelines and schematics; complete build-to’s for ordering or purchasing merchandise.
Check in deliveries, maintain inventory, verify invoices, review discrepancies with the Store Manager, and bring outdated merchandise to the Store Manager for verification.
Assemble, date, and price-mark in-store displays.
Provide prompt, courteous, friendly, and attentive customer service; greet customers and thank them as they leave.
Resolve or help resolve routine customer concerns within established guidelines.
Report to work on time and follow the dress and appearance code.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Sweep and mop or otherwise clean floors; dust or wash windows, counters, displays, store areas, and bathrooms; pick up and dispose of trash, litter, and debris.
Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order; clean and check coffee machines, beverage and ice units, refrigeration units, and other machines, tools, and work aids.
Attend job-related meetings, which may require irregular hours.
Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and conducting shift audits.
Maintain intradepartmental workflow and foster cooperation; contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks.
Perform duties with minimal supervision and perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
