About The Position

Piggly Wiggly is hiring a Stock Associate to support grocery department operations and provide excellent, courteous, and prompt customer service. The role involves monitoring product quality and freshness, stocking and merchandising products, maintaining clean and sanitary work and shopping areas, and following health, sanitation, safety, and company procedures. The position is in person in Albany, Georgia. Full-time and part-time schedules are available; the full-time schedule is 40 hours, while part-time is up to 20 hours. Schedules vary by location and work area and may include Monday through Sunday, with weekends as needed or scheduled. Requirements

Ability to learn basic knowledge of products carried in the department.
Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness, read labels, and become familiar with products.
Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards when interacting with customers, vendors, and team members.

Ability to lift up to 50/100 pounds.
Ability to stand and/or bend over a worktable for the duration of a shift.
Ability to perform single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling, and motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
Ability to work around ADA-approved cleaning chemicals and in temperatures below 32°F, from 32–40°F, and above 90°F.
Ability to work in a wet and/or cold environment.
Ability to use tools and equipment safely, including box cutters, knives, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, balers, and other heavy machinery.
Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
Multilingual skills are a plus, particularly fluency in English.

Responsibilities

Monitor product quality and freshness and ensure proper product rotation.
Keep cases and shelves clean and well-stocked.
Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep logs as required.
Assist with periodic inventory checks.
Arrive on time, appropriately groomed and dressed, and ready to work; work scheduled shifts and attend required training and meetings.
Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly and effectively, and model suggestive selling techniques.
Answer store phones and respond to pages promptly and courteously.
Maximize sales potential through proper product preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising procedures.
Follow or ensure compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and maintain equipment according to company cleanliness and safety standards.
Ensure signs and pricing are accurate.
Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or executive leadership.
