About The Position

The Museum of Modern Art is hiring Temporary Stock Associates for its Design Store at 44 West 53rd Street, across from the Museum. The position maintains the stockroom, supports sales-floor replenishment, and ensures efficient handling of incoming receipts and outgoing deliveries. Associates uphold MoMA standards, policies, and procedures and proactively connect to the Museum to support a holistic visitor experience. They also help create positive customer experiences that support the store mission, encourage repeat visits and positive word of mouth, and drive conversion and sales.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience in a retail stockroom or shipping capacity.
Strong verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist with unloading shipments and deliveries.
Receive merchandise.
Process store sends, buy online-pickup in store orders, and buy online-ship from store orders.
Prepare products to be fixture ready, including ticketing and shrink wrapping.
Replenish store fixtures.
Maintain an efficient and organized stockroom.
Assist with annual physical and mini inventories.
Assist managers with periodic training programs for new staff and demonstrate functions during initial shadowing.
Make occasional local deliveries to or for key customers as needed.
Visit the Museum regularly.
Attend product, vendor, and customer service training as appropriate.
Participate in advanced education opportunities as offered.
Attend staff meetings.
Perform other duties reasonably related to the described functions.
