About The Position

The Therapeutic Program Worker (TPW) is a direct care worker at the Ohio Veterans Homes who supports residents with daily living skills and other needs, with assistance tailored to each resident’s needs and capabilities. The Ohio Veterans Homes provide trauma-informed, long-term nursing home care to veterans. This position is based at 2003 Veterans Boulevard in Georgetown, Ohio, and is PRN for second and third shifts. The schedule is intermittent and part-time. Compensation is $23.28 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess STNA certification and/or be listed on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry.
• A valid driver’s license is required for positions that require operating a motor vehicle to transport consumers to recreational, educational, or occupational activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with eating and feeding, bathing, toileting, personal and oral hygiene, dressing, grooming, and communication.
• Transport residents to activities or programs and attend those activities or programs with them.
• Complete required daily, monthly, and other documentation.
• Observe and report changes in symptoms or behavior, as well as accidents, incidents, or injuries, to the charge nurse.
• Perform light housekeeping duties in residents’ living areas.
• Apply safety and infection-control measures.
• Help redirect unsafe actions to support positive outcomes.
• Assist nursing personnel with resident admissions, discharges, and transfers.
