Intermittent Custodial Worker
About The Position
The Intermittent Custodial Worker cleans and maintains living facilities, dining areas, rest rooms, and/or offices. Duties include dusting, mopping, sweeping, buffing and waxing floors; scrubbing sinks, toilets, countertops, walls, and ceilings; cleaning furniture and equipment; emptying trash; washing windows; polishing mirrors and glass; vacuuming and shampooing carpet; and replenishing soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. The role also performs related duties such as removing snow or ice from sidewalks, removing litter from grounds, replacing light bulbs, ordering or stocking supplies, securing doors or windows, moving furniture, and sorting or washing linens. This is an intermittent, part-time position at Gallipolis Developmental Center. Intermittent staff are allotted 1,000 hours per year from July 1 through June 30. The stated work hours are 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
Requirements
- Formal education in arithmetic including addition and subtraction, and in reading and speaking common English vocabulary, or equivalent qualifications.
Responsibilities

- Remove snow or ice from sidewalks and litter from grounds.
- Replace light bulbs; order or stock supplies; secure doors or windows; move furniture; and sort or wash linens.
