About The Position

This Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) position is assigned to the Lake Texoma Annex in Grayson County. The Custodial Worker cleans lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned lodging areas. The role also maintains cleaning supplies and equipment, updates room status using the telephone system, and reports maintenance issues to a supervisor. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
Ability to use hand or lightweight powered cleaning tools or equipment.
Ability to physically perform the full range of assigned duties.
Must complete a background investigation with favorable results, including a Tier Level I/National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
No previous experience or training is required; this is an entry-level position.
Must meet the stated residency, identity-document, selective-service, direct-deposit, employment-verification, and other eligibility requirements where applicable.

Responsibilities

Clean lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned lodging areas.
Sweep, dry mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers.
Dust, wax, and polish furniture; clean and sanitize guest-room appliances, cooking utensils, and dishes; empty wastebaskets; and polish metal fixtures.
Wash reachable walls, windows, and blinds, using stepping stools when needed.
Change bed linen and make beds; collect soiled linen for pickup; and deliver clean linen as directed.
Update room status, occupancy, and checkouts using the telephone system.
Clean, disinfect, and deodorize lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls; clean mirrors, sinks, and water fountains; and replace room deodorizers.
Restock toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items.
Report broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other maintenance conditions to a supervisor.
Maintain a stock of cleaning materials and equipment, and notify a supervisor when supplies are needed or equipment needs repair or replacement.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
